Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between this bundle and the Notion Worldbuilding Hub?

The bundle gives you printable (or fill-in) PDFs and spreadsheets — lightweight, focused tools you can use right away. The Notion Hub is a fully digital, interconnected wiki-style system that also includes a writing planner. Not sure which fits your style? See the full comparison →

Do I need any special software?

Nope. The bundle comes in fillable (or printable) PDFs and spreadsheets. The Beat Sheet is an Excel file, but you can easily import it into Google Sheets if that’s your preference.

Can I use the templates if I’m new to writing fantasy?

Absolutely. The prompts and worksheets are designed to guide you step by step, even if this is your first novel. You don’t need to be an “experienced” worldbuilder to get value. These are practical tools that help you stay organized and creative from page one.

It has been extremely helpful in sparking my creativity but also keeping my thoughts organized. There are so many things to consider when writing a fantasy book. Of course there's the plot and the characters, but then there's the worldbuilding and the magic system. And what about the romantic developments? It's so easy to get overwhelmed, but with these templates I have a place to organize all that creativity (and, let's be honest, make sure I don't go completely off track and lose myself in the process of worldbuilding and actually get to the writing part).

I'm just getting started with writing fantasy, and writing in general, but these templates have been so helpful! They have everything I need to build my world and magic systems. They have helped me to figure out what aspects of my world/magic system that I need to know. It made researching that much easier!

I think for ages I’ve had so many ideas but have been awful at collecting them all in a coherent manner - these templates allow me to do that! I’ve also incorporated them into my daily to do list now, so each day I pick out one box to think about, and use that to direct my daily word count goal to help me discovery write with more focus
