What is a writing tracker?

A tool for recording your writing sessions: how many words you wrote, how long you wrote for and whether you hit your goal. In Quill&Steel OS, the writing tracker is built into the manuscript editor, so your progress is tracked where you write.

How does the word count tracker work?

Start a session in the manuscript editor and write. When you finish, Quill&Steel OS fills in the words you added and how long you wrote. Save the session with a goal, notes and how it felt, and your totals, averages and streak update right away.

Can I log writing I did somewhere else?

Yes. Log a session by hand from the Writing Sessions page, or click a day on the writing calendar, and enter your word count and time yourself.

Can I set a word count goal for my book?

Yes. Set a target word count for your book and see words written, words remaining and a finish estimate based on your average session. You can also set a word count goal for each session.

Can I use it as a manuscript tracker for a series?

Yes. Each book is its own project with its own sessions, word count and goal, and you can group books into a series.
